A one of a kind instrument — we’ve never seen a Steinway like it in 35 years of piano work!

This 5′ 10 1/2 ” mahogany piano — inlaid with incredible maple detail — has an unusual custom case.  It has clean lines and an almost Art Deco feel.  From what we can determine, it must have been a custom piano, a one-of-a-kind Steinway & Sons instrument.  Built in 1917 it has been fully restored on its 100th birthday; its quality and uniqueness to be enjoyed these years later. The piano still has its original ivory keys.   Additionally it has a new varnish finish, new soundboard and bridges, all new Steinway action parts, a new pinblock and new strings.  It’s regulated and voiced for performance.

With this full restoration Ken feels that it is in the same league as any Steinway of its size produced today.

As always Ken is available for questions or more pictures at 651-430-1218.  The piano is in our living room in Stillwater, MN and an interested buyer is welcome to play it by appointment.

$55,000.

An affordable choice for both students and adults.

A customer of ours, unable to take this instrument with her given family circumstances, asked Ken to rebuild it and find a good home.  The piano has a repaired soundboard, and new every other part  (pinblock, strings, dampers, action, and keytops).   In this era Baldwin made a sound, quality instrument, popular and very sought after.   The piano has been completely refinished and has an amazing burled walnut case.

As always Ken is available to talk about the piano and answer any questions, 651-430-1218. The instrument can be played by appointment here in Stillwater, MN

Knabe Grand 5’6″ , 1960’s

Doing a favor for a friend….

A choir directing friend of ours broke her arm, moved to Florida and asked us to take her piano and find a customer for it.   Ken felt he couldn’t stand behind it “as is”,  so he replaced the pinblock, restrung it, put on a set of Ronsen hammers with Weikart felt.  The instrument responded nicely.  A piano for a home with players who can enjoy a grand.  Walnut case with a fairly good finish.

$9,000.

This 5’ 1” Steinway — the smallest of the S&S grand pianos — belonged to one of Ken’s customers.  They were downsizing and unable to have move with the instrument.  It’s a perfect size for a home full of players. The original soundboard is still good.  Other restoration has happened:  new pinblock, strings, dampers and action, keytops and bushings.   The case is the original dark mahogany and is also in good shape.

This would a perfect instrument for students moving up in their studies and needing a more responsive piano both touch-wise and sound-wise.

Ken always available for conversation and questions at 651-430-1218 and the piano is in our shop in Stillwater to be seen and played.
